The Naples Orto Botanico (Botanical Gardens) are beautifully landscaped and were originally founded by Joseph Bonaparte and Prince Joachim Murat around 200 years ago.
Surrounded by giant walls, the Naples Orto Botanico (Botanical Gardens) cover approximately 30 acres / 12 hectares and are one of the largest botanical gardens in the whole of Italy.
Attractions at the Naples Botanical Gardens include a huge collection of exotic plants from all over the world, including many large hardy palms, giant tree fern glades, a large cacti collection, established trees and shrubs, and many colourful flowering plants.
